Methods of Treatment

Acupuncture

Methods

Acupuncture Point Therapy: Focuses on the 12 meridians running throughout the body. In each line there are several points that can be used to treat different areas. By choosing points on that line or combing different lines together, it promotes Qi to become stronger or weaker treating deficiencies and excess conditions.

Auricular Therapy: The ear is a resourceful tool as in tranditional Chinese medicine, the body is mapped across its surface. Examining the ears gives us insight during treatment. Using tiny seeds/magnets/needles we can stimulate the points selected and treat the body.

Tun Na: An acupressure treatment, in which the Acupuncturist will press acupuncture points to stimulate and direct Qi and direct. Points selected may be tender, as foreseen in consultation.

Moxibustion: Uses controlled burning of a material to create heat over the skin. There are many types and styles of moxa. Applying heat to acupuncture points using moxa is a highly effective therapy for many different conditions.

Methods

Electro-Stimulation: During acupuncture point therapy, electrical stimulation may be applied to one or several of inserted needles using a specialized machine, which can warm the point or send impulses to the points selected.

Gua Sha: Is a smooth edged plastic/stone/rubber tool that's used to scrap the skin surface, creating red skin and promoting blood circulation under that skin. Gua Sha is generally used to treat skin disorders, promote good skin tone, and soften muscles.

Blood Letting: An arrow/straight shaped disposable needle is used to punch the skin surface and allow drips of blood to form. At which time a glass jar may be placed over it to create a suction seal. There are many styles and benefits to this practice. It is generally used to clear heat and for back pain, but treats many conditions.

Cupping: A special glass/plastic/bamboo/wood cup is applied to the skin using any one of the following methods, steam/fire/pump/herb tea/ etc. Applying cups to acupuncture points has many benefits.

Facial Glass Cupping & Gua Sha: Facial cupping has been used by the Chinese for centuries to treat asthma, pain, TMJ, and sinus congestion. It can also transform the appearance of the skin by increasing blood flow and circulation, easing puffiness, diminishing lines, drawing nutrients to the surface, and enhancing the absorption of creams and serums. During treatment, the face will be cleansed, a special oil will be applied and then glass facial cups specially designed for your face will be moved along the face and down the neck or placed over a deep wrinkle for a few seconds to increase blood flow to the area or to drain lymphatic fluid and stimulate blood flow.

Mirconeedling: The treatment begins with traditional acupuncture to increase blood production and flow, balance hormones, and alleviate discomfort. Following acupuncture a microneedling device is gently glided over the skin creating tiny punctures, which encourage a healing response in the skin, leading to collagen and elastin production. It is used to treat headaches, skin ailments, fine lines, deep lines, scarring, stretch marks, hair loss, nervous system disorders, paralysis, and painful joints.
